Avatar aint workin

Every time I try to put on an avatar from the internet it says "invalid file", and I know that they are not invalid files. Would someone mind making it not say invalid file!?

What would you rather it say?
Have you tried downloading the file to your com then uploading it?
Also, check the file size. It might be too large and need resizing.
