Found an egg

Was changing substrate and the moss l put in the hides. Found an egg in the moist hide. Was starting to get concerned as l havnt found any poop for quite a few days even though she has been eating. Can reptiles get egg bound? Ive seen it in chickens. If that guy sold me a breeder its no wonder she doesnt like me being around her.

Leopard geckos can get egg bound but it doesn't happen that often. They can also lay eggs without benefit of a male. Any female is potentially a breeder and if she had contact with a male before you got her the egg could be fertile but it's more likely that it's a dud egg. One of my leopard geckos has laid eggs periodically and my gargoyle and crested geckos have laid eggs every season for the last 5 years. None of them are fertile.

He also had a male looked just like her. Could have been brother and sister l guess. Now l know she is older than l thought. I will keep working with her to see if l can make her friendlier.
