Lost Toenail

Hi, when using a Q-tip on our boy Lemon a few weeks ago, we noticed that one of his toes was bleeding a tiny bit (just enough to leave a drop or two on my hand). So, we cleaned his tank and made sure everything was cleaned up. However, he started shedding again last night (he's always a been a problem shedder) so after his bath, I used a Q-tip on him again, and noticed the same toe was bleeding again. All of a sudden, his toenail came off with his shed! How should we go about treating this? Also, we never want this to happen again obviously, is there any way we could have avoided this?

Any help/advice would be appreciated. :main_huh:

Bump...

Also, I do have a humid hide full with damp spaghnum moss and the under tank heater is at 90 degrees. I'm very worried about it happening again, any advice?

Also, how should the wound be treated? It looks healthy, but I want to make sure it stays that way.
