Sorry, when you hit OK not add. Click the button with the globe and link symbol then paste your link, then click ok, then backspace the highlighted part and type what you want.

I'm terrible at explaining things! LOL

the easiest way is to just learn bbcode...
click here for the list of codes

LOL!! I may as well be trying to understand a language from another planet :main_laugh: thanks anyway though :)

I do think I understand what Mel is saying (kind of). It's probably best if I find someone at work to show me how to do it. I have read several instructions on the internet, and they all just make me even more confused :eek:

Here is an easy way. I'll just explain it.

You will ad your link, and the text will look like this:
URL="http://www.yourlink.com"]http://www.yourlink.com[/URL
(with the brackets, if I put the brackets, it would show as a link).

From there, you can highlight the part between:
URL="http://www.yourlink.com"] and [/URL
(this part, http://www.yourlink.com)

Now you can type what ever you want to, for example, My link.
So the code will look like:
URL="http://www.yourlink.com"]My Link[/URL

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also you could type the words you want to say in,
like "Come visit my link."

And then highlight "my link" (or whatever you want to add a link to),
and then click the hyper link button to add the site.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please ask any questions Stan, tried to make it pretty straightforward.

OK the other guys r confusing me. I MIGHT be able to explain it better, not so sure LOL.

1) Copy the link(aka copy a youtube link) and go to the thread/pm you want to paste it on

2) Type what you would like the link to come up as, EX: Click here)

3) Highlight the phrase/word and click the little button that looks like a world with a paper clip on the bottom half.

4) A small box will come up saying something like "Paste your link here" and will have "http://" already highlighted in a text area.

5) Right-click and paste your link into the text area, then hit ok.

6) The phrase you highlighted should still be highlighted, but now have a series of symbols and other junk around it. Leave it all alone, no need to touch it, or the system will not read the command. Your word has now been hyperlinked :D

7) Submit the post/PM and you are DONE :D

Example of completed work when posted: Tigris

I hope this helped. I thought I probably should go step-by-step instead of getting all technical like the other guys :p.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to help out a computer illiterate type :)

Do you need to click "submit post" to see the changes you made, or can you see it in "preview"?

BTW, are you the one who took that cool pic w/ the flower cap on the leo's head?
I love that pic. I even saved it, blew it up a bit, and use it for a wallpaper :)

You can see the link in preview.
And I am pretty sure Emily was caring for her teacher's gecko, and took that picture. But I am not sure.
