I have some questions about building a hatchling rack:

1) How big of hatchling rack should I make based on around 10-15 breeding females?

2) Should I use back heat or just spend the extra on heat tape and use belly heat?

3) What company makes the best 6 qt tub?

-Thanks :D

Those are all good questions...as far as the answers to the 2nd one...i would def get the heat tape. they need the belly heat to digest...

But the real question here is do you have a good size Incubator for that many breeders! lol

I would also say get the heat tape. First year breeding for me and I got 8 hatchlings out of 8 eggs by 2 females. Both were first year breeders. I use sterilite tubs for my hatchlings. 6qt. Its hard to say how many eggs you would get from that many females. I got 3 from one and 5 from the other that I bred this year. I would expect that those numbers would be a good average for you to go off of. Just my opinion though.

use the heat tape, i would go to walmart and see which tubs you like best first then build your inclosure around that. i dont know how many tubs you would need depends how many you will house per tub but you are going to need quite a few id try to do at least like 20 tubs if your doing all shoeboxes.
