Feeding on slate

I Just put slate in my new tank for obvious reasons and Gary is having a hard time eating off of it, he goes to bite at his worms but they slide away to easy and he cant get them. He wont eat them out of his dish, only if i drop them in front of him, and if he cant get one, he gets mad and gives up on them. Anyone else have this problem or tips to help feed him?

Have you tried putting them on a piece of paper towel? It would give him a little traction. You can remove the paper towel once feeding is done.
