I've read on another board about a guy that kept adult cresties and gargs together. He didn't notice any aggression but also had a huge tank with a ton of hiding spots. I've read a lot more posts about them being super aggressive even with other gargs though.

Took this little guy out for the first time today and was able to get some better pics. He was jumpy but not as bad as I expected. I wish he was fired up for the pics but I haven't seen him fired up at all except for the day I got him.

If the crestie is 2.5" with tail, I would go with a medium or large KK til it gets bigger. It might have a hard time finding food in a 10 gallon at that size. Once it hits about 15g I'd move it up to a vertical 10 gallon which would suit it fine for awhile.
