We have a new, 6 month old girl. She seems to be very healthy, and we have had her for about 3 weeks. She really likes to eat Meal worms, and I am just a bit confused on how much we should be feeding her. Right now, I am giving her about 10 regular sized mealies a day. She has not shown much...
We bought a new gecko from PacHerp.com. Great experience in buying, and seems we also got a very healthy girl.
Question to all of you: We have had her for about three weeks.. We have not picked her up yet, but have introduced our hand into the cage for her to check out. It seems she has...
Well, we lost our first leo last month. I want to make sure I am doing everything right with our new girl.
Question: We live on the coast, so the humidity is naturally higher in our area. The tank is reading between 65-70%, is this going to be a problem?
We are only heating the tank...
Alright, I believe the time has come and I just wish our guy would die quickly/peacefully. He has clearly been suffering for weeks. Took him to the vet (boy was that worthless), with nothing more to show for it then a lost $50. He is not getting better, but worse. It is getting frustrating...
I have not done that, my local vet does not work on Reptiles....
Can it still be done even if he had no "fecal" to examine? He has not eaten in over 2 weeks
Wow, that is the same problem I am having. I set the temp, and it shifts like the stock market! I finally found a setting where the range stays between 92-97, but I am waiting for that to end. Kind of irritating
Well, I had another thread going on, but thought I should quickly ask in a new thread what to do...
I got my little guy from a pet store about 3-4 weeks ago. He seemed to have become ill about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Lethargic, not eating, etc.
I changed his set up, removed the sand, gave him...
Hey Guys,
Newbie here.... I had another post, and received lots of help! I bet someone made mention on the other thread about temps, but I am not finding it... I just got a digital thermo in the tank, and I am wondering what the BEST ranges on the hot side should be... day/night. I have...
Ok! Now I know not to worry about floor space. Second hide just added, but the little guy is not looking so good. Man, I hope he makes it through this. The Pet stores advice has seemingly caused the majority of the stress issues at this point! Bad substrate, wrong lighting, wrong...
Thank you for your reply! Also, I would love to see a pic of your setup.
So, the UV light is now off, and I will get the new thermo today. Yes, the pet store... they sold me all this garbage...and I do not trust them at all anymore. We really started to notice him going downhill late...
Ok, thank you for your advice. I had a feeling the UV light was going to get bashed, but I was afraid the temps were vital. I will ditch that and get a digi thermo. Question: Where do I place the probe: Under the substrate, right over the UTH?
Also, the tanks seems sooooo small to...
Ok, so I have made some changes to try and get this guy back on track: I removed all the sand and put down repti carpet. One other thing I changed was his hide. The one I had in was pretty open. I placed a nice, natural looking rock hide (non heating) that is pretty dark on the inside...
Thank you for that visual. I am on that right away. Do I have to worry about overcrowding the tank and not having enough room for him to wander around?
I am going to loose the light like you suggested. It is a bright room to begin with, I was just really using it for heat. Right now ( i moved things around a bit, so could not be accurate) the temp is reading a bit over 80. I have the thermo in the left bottom corner, right above the sand...
