She was 7ft long and weighed around 15-20 pounds. Boy was it fun to throw the rats in to her. :D

    RIP Arashi

His name means Storm in Japanese and his little guy was one hell of one. When I picked him out he bit the keeper at ***** and has given me a run for my money while I had him, He was my first reptile and I know I'm going to miss him a lot. :( He was with me for 6 months, the best Christmas...

ok day three-four of the geckos

It shouldn't much with humidity, however 3"-4" can make a surprising difference in temperature. Unless you are raising the floor tonight or tomorrow I would move the thermometer down to the bottom of the tank.

ok day three-four of the geckos

I see the thermometer/humidity gauge is about midway up the side of the tank. Are you getting the readings from there? or on the floor of the tank?

    Venemoid snakes?

Ink. If you had read my very first post on this thread you'd know I have not ever kept a snake, venomoid, venomous or nonvenomous. I do not even have the money to get the venomoid operation done if I did own a venomous snake. And here is my first post just for your convenience. I've already...

    Venemoid snakes?

I'm sorry Ink_Scorpion but I must highly disagree with you on this. I am an animal lover and I would kill anyone that wanted to maliciously harm any animal that belonged to me. However, I do not disagree with people keeping venomoid snakes. The reason I'm posting this is because you are saying...

    Venemoid snakes?

Truthfully, I don't keep snakes at all much less hots but I don't think it's wrong to keep them in some cases. I think It's nuts to do it on a whim "just because." But I think for things like some educational shows were it would be too irresponsible to bring a venomous the venomoid would be a...

    Emergency gecko missing legs

I've been following this topic as it's grown and truthfully, it sounds to me like someone who knows they've done something wrong and doesn't want to fess up for it. I am one of the many younger people on this forum and age doesn't mean a lot at all. Even I know placing ANY animal into the back...

Starting to get out of hand

if that's the air temp I imagine the floor is quite a bit hotter. I would definitely turn it down, if you don't have a rheostat or thermostat I would suggest simply raising the lamp higher. I keep my floor temps at 96-97* in the warm area and anywhere from 70-90 elsewhere. Depending on how high...

Starting to get out of hand

Just a quick question but is it the air temperature your measuring or the floor temp? and if nothing else I would try switching to an under tank heater instead of a lamp.

    STUPID CATS! (Please Help)

perhaps avoidance training might work, Any time the cat goes near a tank make a loud noise, shout and run at the cat and scare it away from the tank. After a few of these he'll learn tanks = scary noise. It's worth a try I'd think.

    STUPID CATS! (Please Help)

Oh I see, do you happen to have a baby gate or even an old cardboard box you could prop up in front of the doorway as a makeshift door? Even a tacked up sheet over the door might help deter the cats from entering.

    STUPID CATS! (Please Help)

If it gets too cold at night to leave the kitten outside perhaps it would be possible to leave the cat inside a bathroom with the door shut until you can find Shadow. I would also keep the door shut to the room which Shadow was let out in, double check some of the spaces you've already checked...
